Someone finds me funny

We spend a good portion of the past week over in Wisconsin. Jesse is convinced that there is something in the Wisconsin air that helps James develop. Maybe there is something to this. This week James is perfecting his belly laugh. It's kind of amusing that somebody finds me so funny. Yesterday, he was thoroughly entertained by the way I said "pizza" in a low voice. Of course his laugh only encouraged me. I have to savor these moments because it will be all too soon that he grows up and discovers mom is not as hilarious as he once thought.

My mom bought James this new chair. It comes in handy when I'm trying to get something done. But what is there to do besides play with James? Don't I realize the world revolves around my little guy? I try to convince Jess of this, but he still wants clean socks! By the way, the little cap that he's wearing finally fits him - about a month after he outgrew the outfit it belongs with.

Die Hard Zeppelin Fan

James and Daddy have matching t-shirts. James got his from his Aunt Christy for Christmas and Daddy's is practically worn out. So we (meaning Mommy) dressed them up for this photo-op. I don't know about you, but it seems to me that James kinda likes being just like his dad. Or maybe he just enjoys sitting on Daddy's lap. Do you notice those ears are starting to stick out? Pretty cute.

Wild and Crazy

Not the best picture - we know. James had a rough Valentine's Day. We're not sure what all the tears were about, but he seems to be making up for it with lots of sleep and a happier attitude.

Try to say no to this...

James has now mastered his "pouting" face.

This face is usually accompanied by a quivering lip and real "crocodile tears." This week has had more than its share of tears. We moved James' crib from our bedroom into the office. He loves his crib and is excited to play in it, but it took a few days to adjust to sleeping in there.

Here are a couple happier shots from the week.

The exersaucer was babysitting James as I was making dinner. As you can see, he was working on balancing. It was really fun to watch, and he knew it. Once he realized that this trick received a cheer, he did it over and over and over again - looking up of course to receive his applause.

This stuffed lion is a favorite of James'. He like that it is so soft and easy to grab. When we give him the lion, James will greet him with a smile then attack the lion with his mouth.

On an ordinary day in the Rhody household this swing will be used more than once. At least once to extend naptime, and at least once to calm an overtired James in the evening. What a lifesaver.

3 months Old

Our pumpkin is now 3 months old.

We took James to get his 3 month pictures taken yesterday. Then I was inspired to take some at home. Two new things happened today as well. James grabbed for his toys in his exersaucer. He loves the rings that hook together. Probably because he can actually grab them and get them into his mouth. The second thing he did was spin in the exersaucer - rotating to find new toys. I guess 3 month olds know how to do those things :) It was a pretty exciting day!

James found his laugh

James is just hanging out with Dad. His arm looks so natural draped across Jesse. You can't see it, but this week James found his laugh. He likes to join in when we are laughing. He'll giggle and then gasp for air and laugh some more.

Concentration

This week James is loving his play gym. He concentrates so hard. Sometimes he will work hard to grasp and hold a fish (usually the tail) in his hands. Other times he just swings his arms wildly.

We are trying to post some videos, but we're still figuring out how that works. We have some of him talking and playing in his exersaucer. His play times are a lot of fun. James is also content to play by himself for awhile - maybe fifteen minutes or more. I haven't timed it.
