Busy Boy

This has been a busy week. Maybe too busy in the evenings for our munchichi. He has been working hard from practicing sitting up to learning to roll to cutting some teeth.
This picture is from last week - basking in the 70 degree weather.
James has really gotten into reading books. He likes how the pages turn. What a big boy!
He's also working on at least one tooth. He has not been the happiest of babies. It's hard to hear him complain and not really be able to help him much.
Here is our boy rolling over. This week he has finally started to roll from his stomach to his back. He is not too excited or impressed with himself, but we applaud him loudly.

I dropped something...

What is going through our boy's head?
"I thought I had a toy. Where did that go?"
More like - "Mommy, Daddy - could you pick that up for me?" AGAIN and AGAIN and AGAIN... At least he doesn't think it's funny - YET!?!?

Oral Fixation???

James enjoying riding on Daddy's shoulders and sucking on Daddy's head.
James loves anything he can get his mouth on. I like to refer to these as kisses. James loves to put this toy into his mouth, but screams at it when he realizes he prefers his pacifier.

We like to play ball with James. He is kind of facinated with how a ball works, but even more facinated by how he can get it into his mouth. This kind of ball gets pretty slippery after a couple minutes of a slobber bath.

Single Parenting

Single Parenting

We are so happy to have Daddy home! I am so grateful for my husband. It is a joy to have someone to share the good and bad with. As much as I adore James, single parenting is NOT for me!!! Praise God for providing us with our family. Also, thanks to so many people for helping James and I while Jess was gone.

4 Months Old

Our little peanut went in for his 4 month check up/ immunizations on Wednesday. He weighed in at: 14lb 8 oz and 25 1/2 inches long. 50% for weight and 75% for height. He was quite enthusiastic to be at the doctor and put on a nice show of cooing, squealing, and moving around. That all ended when they shot him in the leg three times. The doctor said she usually gives out the poison control number at the 6 month checkup, but she would give it to us now. (What does that mean?) Apparently, the shots or maybe the excitement wore James out. Still he's our sweet, little guy - even if he is relatively big.

His favorite toy this week is one that plays music and lights up. He loves music. Before Jesse left he made us a couple of videos of himself for when we miss him. James becomes so excited to see and hear his papa. It's a great distraction when he gets fussy. (our boy get fussy? never - actually he's a happy little guy)

James, that's disgusting.

Airport

Yesterday we dropped Daddy off at the airport. Jesse left for Panama to visit his brother. He'll be gone 10 days. James found the airport very exciting. He must have known something was up because he could not nap the rest of the day. So, the next picture is of a VERY TIRED boy.
