Thank you God for James and Friends

So, we are still working on letting James fall asleep on his own, in his own bed. I have to report we have some successes. This morning, I put him down without a pacifier, told him to go to sleep and so far it has been 25 minutes and no crying! Way to go James!

Jesse and I were reflecting on how rewarding parenting is. These are the rewards we have discovered so far...

1. When he holds on to your finger really tightly.
2. His happy smile - this is a rare event.
3. His chuckle - this only happens in his sleep.
4. All the little discoveries he makes - like his fingers and the cool things they can do.
5. Feeling him relax when you hold him in your arms.
6. When he sees us and reaches out his arms.
7. Plus, he makes a great ice breaker for conversations.

I've met so many more people since we had Jamers!

James' Mobile

This was a tough day. We are attempting to teach James to fall asleep on his own and in his bed. Apparently, this will be worth it in the long run. After laying in his bed, not sleeping, for 1 1/2 hours, we decided to play for awhile. We discovered that
James really enjoys his mobile.

These are not his "best" praying hands, but this is the best example we have caught on camera. Yes, our son is tight with God. Train them early!

Haley's Christmas Program

James and Mommy went to see Haley's Christmas program today. James was enthralled with the Christmas tree lights. Haley was the angel who said "Fear not. Behold a child is born."

And she sang her first solo - "There was a star..."

After the program, the angel spent a little time with her baby cousin.

My First Bottle

To give us ittle more freedom, we decided to see how James would take to receiving his milk through a bottle. All in all it went a little too well! He got the hang of it within seconds.

By the end of the feeding, he decided to hold the bottle himself.

What can we say? Our boy likes his milk.

My First GUN ?!?

This is a Remington 270. I don't know what that means, but I think it's cool. Maybe in 10-12 years Mommy will let Daddy teach me how to use it.

Our baby...

James Tyler Rhody was born to us November 6, 2006. It is hard to believe he is now 1 month old and already 2 lbs heavier. Blessings surpassing blessings... We didn't realize we would love being parents so much.
